Wade out in front at Bala

WARRINGTON Dolphins swimmer Christian Wade was victorious in the men's British Long Distance Swimming Association Three-Kilometre Championship in Wales.

Wade won the event in Bala and Andy Wright finished second, as he did in the Cheshire Three-Kilometre Championship, ahead of Billy Dutton, third, and Chris Carter, fourth.

Claire Dickinson was second in the women's section of both events, while Joe Coy finished ninth in the BLDSA six-mile race and seventh in the three-mile race.

Lisa Stout came fourth in the same race, with David Bowker finishing 11th in his first three-mile event.
