Arson attack on shop
ARSONISTS damaged an outside toilet at Johnsons Dry Cleaners, in Sankey Street in the town centre, on Thursday morning. They set fire to bins and pushed them up to the rear of the property, and the fire spread to an outbuilding. Firefighters said the blaze caused smoke damage to the business and to the Help The Aged shop next door. Staff at both shops declined to comment on the incident. A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "The fire service stresses the importance of people securing their refuse containers as far as away as possible from their property."
