Order some rat poison

Here we go again - up goes the council tax and down come the levels of service.

The latest case is now refuse will not be removed if the lid of the wheelie bin is not fully closed. We are only a family of three and we have to squeeze in the last couple of days' rubbish before collection day, and yes this results in the lid being slightly open - so what?

In addition, no side rubbish will be removed, so what are we council taxpayers supposed to do with any excess rubbish? The borough council points us in the direction of the two tips at Woolston and Gatewarth. I do not use Woolston but I am sure many have shared my experience at Gatewarth of sitting in a traffic queue waiting to be let in because the tip is too small. Residents of Old Liverpool Road can look forward to gridlock as we all attempt to dispose of our rubbish. What do you do if you have no car? What will all these extra journeys do to the ozone layer?

I trust WBC has placed a bulk order for rat poison. It is going to need it, as fly-tipping turns our fairly tidy environment into the third Warrington tip. This is a misguided decision taken once again with no consultation.

According to WBC Customer Service Department, the person in charge of waste services is John Rowson, c/o Woolston Depot, Hawthorne Avenue, WA1 4AL. Perhaps if he gets enough letters of complaint this decision will be rescinded.
