Developers should pay
The developers who are behind the Centre Park regeneration proposal and are hoping to make a fortune out of it must think we Warringtonians are gullible. The proposal to build several 5/6-storey apartments, plus a large estate comprising town houses, terraced and detached houses, together with what looks to be a large number of commercial buildings, can only result in many more cars and commercial vehicles converging both ways over the blue bridge. They claim that by removing the Brian Bevan Island and altering the traffic light configuration by adding more, will prevent traffic congestion in and out of town. How can this possibly improve a situation that is already chaotic? If this very badly planned and ill thought-out proposal is to be considered at all then the developers should first of all be made to finance and build another access road and bridge nearer to the Walton/Daresbury area in closer proximity to the M56 which leads to other motorways and would enable motorists to avoid Warrington town centre.
