Darts league finals nights

Runcorn Apec Taxis

Darts League

THE first of the summer league's finals nights will be staged at the War Memorial Club on Thursday.

The event will consist of the final of the Apec Taxi Knockout Cup between Red Admiral and Albion, as well as the final of the Executive Competition between Draymen and Lion Doo Waps.

Lion reached the final with an 8-1 win against Section Three opponents Dreadnoughts in Thursday's semi finals, with the winners' Staunton Pye hitting a maximum.

Clifford McFarland also recorded a maximum for Draymen, with the Section Five team going on to beat Section Three opponents Outcasts 6-3.

Thursday's play will commence at 8pm.

War Memorial Club will also be the venue for the conclusion to the summer league on Friday night.

The event will commence at 8pm with the semi finals of the Doubles competition.

The four pairs involved are Paul Carr and Glynn Thornhill, Sean Bell and Graham Littlemore, Neil Ward and Peter Murphy (all from Navvy), as well as Neil Connor and Steve Roberts (Halfway A).

That will be followed by the semi finals of the Individual competition, involving Steve Roberts (Halfway A), Paul Melia (Albion), Jerry Burke (Clarry B) and Neil Ward (Navvy).

The Town Championship final will follow between Albion and Halfway A.

Albion progressed to the final via a 9-0 whitewash over their Section Two opponents Halfway Gents, but Halfway A - the Section One champions - were given a stiffer match by their Section Four opponents, Roundhouse, before running out 5-4 winners.

Friday's play will conclude with the finals of the Doubles and Individual competitions.
